ports and docks
Propeller turbulence undercuts the foundations of docks at port. Mats can be installed at critical foundation and underhang points to seal the foundation from further erosion without disrupting normal dock operations.
Exposed coastline protection
Cliffs and rocky beaches similarly require wind and wave protection, and large cliffs are subject to collapse as its structural integrity lessens. Mats can be installed directly onto coastline or the exposed face/underhang of a cliff to create direct barrier against the elements.
Exposed riverbanks and riverbeds
Water flows with the greatest force of friction at the edges where it meets the riverbank, both pushing into the riverbank and pulling across from it. Mats can be fixed along the riverbank and placed along the riverbed to essentially control the flow of the river and to keep it in place.
BreakwaterS and Dunes
Mats can be installed on existing and under-construction breakwaters to add a non-porous, added layer of protection that is highly-resilient to wind and water and “fits” the breakwater’s shape to expand its effectiveness and lifetime.
Mats can be installed under top layers of dunes and plantings to preserve majority of dune and dune protection during storms.
The seabed, which serves as natural protection to sandy coastlines and islands, is under constant exposure to erosion from subsea currents. Our mats can be placed along shoreline seabeds to reduce sand loss and provide a more lasting solution to near-constant beach restoration projects.
OIL/GAS PIPELINE AND TELECOM CABLE PROTECTION
Oil/gas pipelines and telecom cable networks are subject to damage from shifting currents and seabeds as well as debris and anchors that may come into contact with the pipelines/cable networks. Our mats can serve as external protection and a stabilization weight.
Unlike heavy block mattresses currently used, the mats are not filled with concrete until they are arranged and fastened, drastically reducing the technology and manpower required for installation.
